Bill Black
was born September 17, 1926 He was Elvis Presley's bassist, Born in Memphis,
Bill Black played
double bass on early Presley recordings including "Good Rockin' Tonight", , "Baby Let's Play House"Heartbreak Hotel and "
that's alright mama" "Heartbreak Hotel" is a rock and roll song by Elvis Presley, with Bill Black, Scotty Moore, and D.J
Fontana on the drums as the main supporting musicians.... Bill's personality would often "warm" the audience to the band
in the early live shows.
Elvis' unusual and very active stage presence in the early live shows. was not always easily accepted. Bill's comedic
personality would often relax the audience and win them over to their side. Although guitarist Scotty Moore would
eventually work with Presley again, Black never did,
Bill died of a brain tumor in October 21, 1965 and was buried
in forest hill cemetery Memphis.
