| Elvis Presley's first tribute artist
No other artist in the world has as many impersonators as Elvis. Today they are called Tribute Artists. They range from the very bad to uncanny look alike of the King himself. It seems every city in the world has it's own Elvis Presley.
It was back in 1956 when Elvis was discovered, Soon after DJ Norm Pringle of Victoria BC Canada started playing "That's All right Mama" and "Heartbreak Hotel." Norm discovered a young 16 year old named Jim Smith had a very close resemblance to Elvis. Norm put a guitar in his hand then gave him a regular TV show and to this day he holds the record as the world's first Elvis Impersonator. Jim still lives in Victoria.
