| Not a huge Elvis fan until I found KAREOKE
No don't click off!obviously no one can match the King, but every time somebody, anybody,
sings one of his songs its a compliment to him and his memory.
it somehow brings you closer to the great man.to me it really doesn't matter how good you are.
over the years Ive seen those who've tried to imitate his clothing and look, many course do it professionally and have successful careers,
but as Ive found, you don't have to get into the jumpsuit or glittering coat to get into the soul of the man......
I think its time i listed tracks that Ive attempted..Teddy bear, heartbreak hotel, all shook up,the girl of my best friend, its now or never,
good luck charm,American trilogy and i just can help believing.if you asked me which i do best and enjoy singing the most id say,
the girl of my best friend,
but i also love to do the last two i listed, both are longer than most Elvis tracks(though that's not the reason)Trilogy because it has such
gentleness, power and heart, all together in one song, and believing is just a wonderful expression of longing for a love,it rises
and falls and just holds you in its caressing arms,,
for Elvis its the perfect song, but as for me i just feel privileged to try....
as i said I'm a latent fan,but his sounds have always been there throughout my life,as it is true for everyone, and maybe that
is the greatest compliment of all.
there is one track i know carol would like me to try "one night" i just don't think i can do it justice, and that's important to me
especially as it would be for her (looks like i will have to practice)if you've never done karaoke before or have song an Elvis song give it a try,
Ive found it such great fun and a joy,if just for a few
minutes I'm standing in the Kings, Blue Suede Shoes. |
