| This year marks the 75Th birthday of
Elvis Presley the king of rock and roll,there will be a year of celebrations.Fans from all around the world came
together at Elvis's home
Graceland,to pay there respects
they braved frigid, snowy weather to celebrate his
75Th birthday,
the fans shivered and sang along with the early
Presley hit That's All Right in
11-degree temperatures.
fans gave a warm welcome to Priscilla Presley,
Lisa Marie,and Elvis's grandchildren Riley
and Benjamin Keough.
they appeared onstage in
an open-sided
tent at the shopping complex across Elvis Presley Boulevard.
Riley and Benjamin cut the five tiered birthday cake.
which was three feet tall and featured blue for blue suede shoes and white glitter to represent
diamonds for the 75th anniversary.
It also featured the TCB lightning bolt, the rhinestone eagle from the Aloha from Hawaii
jumpsuit and the gates of Graceland. Fans toured the
23-room mansion and filed past his grave in the Meditation Garden,
leaving teddy bears and other mementos. The year-long celebrations continues on the 1st March through to March of 2012. with the
opening of Fashion King The exhibit is the first of its kind at Graceland
and explores fashion trends by the King of Rock 'n' Roll.
Also as part of the year-long celebrations is a special exhibit featuring Elvis' iconic
stage costumes from 1969-1977. This exhibit charts the evolution of the design of Elvis' stage wear, popularized
during his Las Vegas engagements and concert tours. Inspired by Elvis' great interest in karate, simple wool
gabardine suits were engineered with tunic-style tops and long, karate-style belts knotted to one side with the
ends dangling from the hip. More than 20 of these costumes, now considered works of art, will be on display
throughout 2010 in this special exhibit, which is included as part of the ticketed VIP Tour of Graceland,
