Elvis Comes Alive in Performance Riversides Season Opener, ALL SHOOK UP, September 18 through 27! Yes, Elvis is in the building at Landis Performing Arts Center, with Performance Riversides 2009-2010 season opener, the Inland Empire premiere of All Shook Up. With 20 classic Elvis Presley hits, All Shook Up promises to have audiences swiveling their hips and rockin right out of their blue suede shoes to "Heartbreak Hotel," "Love Me Tender," "Don't Be Cruel", and much more. The show is directed and choreographed by John Vaughan, produced by Rey O Day, and musically directed by Allen Everman, with an orchestra conducted by Scott. T. Smith. All Shook Up tells the story of a Natalie (South Pacifics Alyssa Marie), a small town girl with big dreams and Chad (Rob Thompson), the motorcycle-riding roustabout she falls for. Also featured are Melodi Slaughter and Vonetta Mixson from Performance Riversides award winning 2006 production of Dreamgirls, Jamie Snyder as Jim Heller, Lindsay Martin as Miss Sandra, Luke Yellin as Dean Hyde, John Petersen as Sheriff Earl, Barbara Hinrichsen as Mayor Matilda Hyde, Morgan Reynolds as Dennis and a red hot singing/dancing ensemble including Brenda Castillo, Katie DeShan, Lori Dina, Chris Giroux, Jennifer Harmon, Michael Milligan, Sabrina Olivieri, Robert Ramirez and Kyle Short. Our rehearsals have reminded me of how memorable Elvis music is. says Performance Riverside producing Artistic Director Rey ODay. I think audiences will find themselves tapping their feet and humming along to these rock and roll classics we love so much, as they rediscover the freedom of dance, the magic of romance, and the power of rock and roll. Performance Riverside is the professional theatrical production company based at the Landis Performing Arts Center at Riverside City College. Season and single tickets for 2009-2010 are now on sale. All performances are at Landis Performing Arts Center at 4800 Magnolia Avenue. Performances of All Shook Up! are September 18, 19, 25, and 26 at 8pm, and September 19, 20, 26, and 27 at 2pm. Tickets are $25, $30, $37, and $43. A specially priced Discovery Theatre preview for school and senior groups is also available on September 18 at 10am.
